In this age of media, ‘Monthly Hefazothe Islam’ is a strong spokesperson for the suffered humanity and Islam.
To fulfil the dream of Kutbe Dawran Hazrat Bornovi(Rah:), a religious and Tahjeeb Tamaddoon related this monthly and started it’s publications from Srabon (fourth month in the Bengali calendar) 30th, 1381. Hazrat Moulana Sheikh Abdur Rob Isamoti initially edited the publication and later the publication being edited, Abdul Ghufur Shahab of Momen Shahee. It was produced in handwritten form when first issued and was published in this form for the early years. Due to the interest shown by the readers and subscribers a printing press called Madani Press was established after the name of Hazrat Madini (Rah). The monthly Hefazothe Islam was published using this printing press thereafter. Day by day the demand of the readers was increasing and as a result in June 1983 the well qualified son of Kutbe Dawran, Hazrat Moulana Sheikh Khalilur Rahman Hamidi (D: B) transferred it into a weekly publication. First Moulana Abdus Salaam Chowdary and than Moulana Abdul Hussein Khan Shahib served as the editor.
The publication continued for some years therafter but unfortunately due to the mechanical problems and financial hardship, the publication of the weekly became more and more irregular. Eventually the publication come to a stop altogether.
In March 2004, Monthly Hefazothe Islam was re-published under the editorship of Moulana Abdul Hussein Khan. Now it is being published regularly from Jamia Lutfia with its interesting content and general appeal regarding all matters Islamic has increased its circulation and of subscriptions dramatically. |
